Hey, how goes? All is good here except winter has arrived with lots of wind and coooold temps. Any way I hope you like this necklace available at http://beadedmoonlady.etsy.com. Check it out already. I love beading and a really like having a space to sell my jewelry. The one part I struggle with is taking good pictures so that my jewelry will look good.

I'm lucky enough to have a spare bedroom, now that my kids have left the nest, that is devoted to beading and now picture taking. I usually have to take around 400 pics to get 10-20 pics that are good enough to use. This picture came about in a third round of 400 pics. I take pics of new pieces and ones already posted on Etsy.com to try keep my store fresh and the jewelry looking its best.

Anyway, you should check out Etsy.com as there are a lot of really great artists and just really interesting people.

My Uncle Gary

Yesterday I got to spend time with my Aunt Sandy, Grandma Betty, and my Uncle Gary. My husband and I went to there home and helped them put in a new set of patio doors. We got the doors in without to much effort. It was fun to find out what everyone was up to. My Aunt Sandy is the one person in the family who keeps in touch with everyone. The entire day was pretty cool. However, it was also a little scary and sad for me. My Uncle Gary who is a total sweetheart has changed so much.

He has always been on the thin side. The most he ever weighed was around 145 pounds. He is now just mostly skin over bone. He is a man who usually just sees the fun and good in people and in life. He is the man who went to work and told all his buddies his niece was getting married and he was going to pay for the wedding. He is the one who guided me through being careful about choices I would make in the future when I first moved out on my own. My parents were busy getting a divorce. I always picture him as strong, fun, funny, and one of the most loving of men. Its frightening now with his health problems to see him be physically frail. You can see his frustration with himself over his new limitations. He gets winded so easily. But one of the things I love, of the many things I love about him, is that he doesn't give in or up. I'm not saying he's perfect because none of us are but for a man who is my uncle he as been more like a father to me and I thank him so much.

Hey all, how is your day? My family and I are very happy. My daughter finally received her information about her financial aide for college. She is attending a community college in Washington state. I am amazed they are able to keep operating. All students who attend that school and applied for aide were put on hold because the school was behind on there paperwork.

They finally got caught up, but all the students had to start school without knowing if they really had the money to finish the semester. However, at least for our daughter all worked out well. She received enough money for the semester. I really dislike when schools or other entities want and expect you to have your stuff together but they can't be as responsible as they expect you to be. Just a personal pet peeve, but it drives me crazy.

Anyway so far, all is going well for her and she is really enjoying school. I am very proud of her for staying the course to get what she wants and needs.

Getting Ready for Winter

Hi, so okay we've been busy and we still have lots to do for winter prep. Putting things away that don't do well in wind and snow. Getting wood stocked up for winter so we don't freeze our ha-ha's off. I'm really not a winter kind of girl, but it does help keep the bug population down.

Technically this is the last day of summer and I already miss it and can't wait for the next summer. Actually, I'm impatient for spring when I can start planting veggies and flowers again. I usually spend the winter checking to see how much snow is on the ground. As spring gets closer I watch for the daffodils to start popping up out of the dirt. I like dirt, even though I don't care for all the things that live in the dirt. I love the daffodils because that means good, or better, weather is coming soon. I do put water out for the bugs in spring, summer, and fall because I need the good bugs for my garden. There is nothing like fresh food from a garden, especially tomato's. Anyway, saying goodbye to summer and hello to fall. Have a great day!

Hello, just feeling a little empty nest syndrome today. This summer both of our children moved out of our home. Our daughter, and our oldest, moved 60 miles away for school. Our son moved 30 miles away for work. I realize that neither place is to far away. I just would love to have them both home with me today.

Everyday I miss them, but some days are harder. Our son usually visits on the weekend. Our daughter visits but not as often as she is also looking for a job, which is not easy right now. They keep saying the economy is getting better but I don't see people getting jobs. I know lots of people who have gotten laid off and only 2 of them have found replacements or been called back to their jobs.

Anyway, have a good day, and I send lots of love and positive energy flying my kids way, and to you as well.:)

Hi, I've posted a pic of my Peach Lemonade earrings. They are available in my store on Etsy.com. Just go to Etsy and search for beadedmoonlady! It's easy peasy! Right now I'm just trying to keep up with everything I can to market my jewelry over the internet, but I'm also making jewelry to stock up my shop for Christmas shopping.

Another store you should check out on Etsy.com is OwensArtworks. This young man is very talented with a pencil and paper. He is only 18 years old. His drawings and prints of his drawings are pretty wonderful and you are missing out if you don't go have a look at what he is doing.

Okay, well I must get to work with my beads and I need another cup of coffee. Have a great day today and everyday!

Hey, how's it going for you? We're doing okay despite a crummy economy. Right now our time is taken up with making sure our backup generator is tuned up and ready to go as well as our chainsaw.

The other issue taking up our time is a cougar spotting on property. I'm hoping he will leave our animals alone and go away of his own free will. There have been a couple sightings of the cougar on our property. We didn't see the cougar, but the people who did say he is a young male. The concern is he may not be a great hunter yet and we don't want him to practice on our animals. I really don't want the cougar to be hurt, but not everyone in our community feels the same. Plus I might not feel the same if he hurt one of our animals or a person.

A lot of the ranchers out here freak out if you mention wolves, but I will admit to feeling excited at the possibilities of seeing a wolf whether on our property or someone elses. To me Wolves are gorgeous animals and so smart. Ok, well for now I must to do some household chores (big sigh), I hate housework.

Hi! Lots of clouds today which is a bummer, but still getting good solar charge. Its been an interesting couple of days here. We woke up the last four days to an animal being loose. The first two days was Morgan, one of the horses we take care of.

The next two days the pigs Lucy and Boris were out and we had to round them up. Thankfully, you can just lead them back to there pen with food. As if I didn't already know, their stomachs are in charge of their brains. Similar to some men who's private parts rule their brains, but sometimes women are ruled by there private parts as well. Its sad really, except the pigs because it makes catching them easier. Plus our pigs are huge and I'm a little afraid of them. Maybe I'll take a picture of them and post it in the next few days.

Well, lots to get done, thanks for reading, and have a good day!

Hi, just sitting here typing and watching Planet Earth. I love watching programs about animals and our planet. If you've never watched Planet Earth or Blue Planet check them out. I'm wishing I had windmills today as it so windy today in my portion of Klickitat Co., WA. I put up another picture of the area where I live. Its a wonderful place to visit or live. We have lots of oak trees and birds.

Anyway, have a great day and make the time to check out my jewelry at http://beadedmoonlady.etsy.com

Blue beadweaved bracelet

Not A Clue

Some days I don't feel like I have a clue, we've all (hopefully) had times like that. Mine is in regards to my son who views nearly everything I say or do with suspicion. He no longer lives at home but does come to visit on weekends. I asked him if he was coming to visit this weekend. And he sounded angry when he asked me WHY.

My answer was so I'd make enough for dinner. Also I was just curious. Sometimes he comes and sometimes he doesn't. He also seems annoyed that I know about his friends, some of whom I see more than he does.

Today I was informed that I shouldn't talk about the subjects of the military in anyway or alcohol. At least not around him. I wasn't expressing an opinion of either in fact I wasn't even the one talking when he said that to me. But for some reason our relationship has gotten more difficult since he moved out.

Okay, I just needed to get that out. Sorry for the mini rant. Have a good day!

Not A Clue

Hi All, I am so far havin a good day despite it being a very blustering day outside. I am in my home drinking hot fresh coffee and sitting by a warm fire and its no even winter yet. I hope your day is going well for you.

You will notice a bracelet picture here today. It is in shades of blue with free-form beadweaving and a silver button and loop clasp. I've posted it on Etsy.com today. I hope you like it. Remember Christmas is coming. I love Christmas but not shopping. I think this will be the first year I do most of my Christmas shopping over the internet so I can avoid the crowds at the stores.

Grocery Shopping

So yesterday I went grocery shopping. I really don't like grocery shopping. I don't mind doing dishes, I like making meals, and I like good food. However, I really don't like grocery shopping. I would rather do any other chore. I really dislike shopping when stores are re-doing their look inside.

We do at least one big shopping trip a month and pick up other things during the month when we go to town for other things that come up. When the stores are re-arranging themselves you can't find anything without major hassles. Customers are lost and/or confused and eventually confused and frustrated. I really don't care what your store looks like as long as its clean and the food is good, meaning fresh. I'll even pay more at another store if the meat and produce look good and when I get them home they taste good. I don't care if the store has the rustic decor look if the food is great. The fact that the store might have nice fake wood floors if I go to produce and the food is moldy or bruised. Sorry just need to get that off my chest. Thanks!
