Hey to all, I'm learning lots of late about using things like facebook, myspace, twitter, etsy.com, and anything else that will help me to be able to sell my jewelry. I will also eventually post other products on etsy, but for now just jewelry. I've been getting good compliments, but alas no sales as of yet. I will soon because I refuse to give up on my goals.

Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy-we are getting some good solar charge. Today we get to have some sun instead of overcast skies. I really don't care for winter. I don't like the cold, the wind, or the snow. The only good thing about snow for me is watching my dogs play in the cold, wet stuff.
I really prefer spring. I want to see flowers not be cold.

Hey, sorry haven't posted in a while. Just getting ready for winter. Doing last minute yard clean-up. Also cleaning out gardening spaces and prepping them for winter. Also trying to deal with hunting season. I don't mind hunting and even understand the need to keep an eye on over population in regards to deer.

What I don't like about hunting season is that it seems for every reasonably smart and careful hunter there also seeems to some idiot hunter in the ranks. If you want to camp in my county and you are bringing a gun then leave the beer at home. If you want to camp and have a beer then leave the gun at home. Thank You for your time!

Hey, how goes? I'm good and also bummed. Today on http://beadedmoonlady.etsy.com I added to my store this pretty bracelet called Playful Crimson Bracelet. I think it turned out well and I love the picture, as I have to work hard to get good pictures.
I'm bummed because my daughter had to leave so she can go to school tomorrow. But I loved having her home for the weekend. My son was also able to come visit. He usually does on weekends but he was sick this last week. I wanted him to be able to see his sister while she was home.
Another shop you should visit on www.Etsy.com is OwensArtworks. He is a really talented young man who does beautiful drawings and prints. He is only 18 years old and from the United Kingdom. Please check him out!

Thank You

Hi, today I want to Thank all Etsy.com sellers and buyers who have hearted my shop. I also want to thank the following shops on Etsy.com. They are SDPhotography, littleblackdress, okbuyer, and AnnabelsAprons.

I want to thank them for their assistance with improving my shop, especially my photos. I want to thank them because they didn't have to take the time to help another seller on etsy, but they and did and I appreciate their assistance. I also want to thank them for being kind with their help. Please check out their shops. If they are this wonderful to another seller I imagine they are even better to their customers. I also know they are each wonderful artists in their own art forms.

Again, Thank you very much!

Okay, so I finally conceded to web destiny and now have a facebook account. You can see pictures of my jewelry and learn more about me and mine. Mine is anyone and anything I care about.

Most people I know I care about and the few I don't like or care for I won't be spending much, if any, time on them in this blog. I don't want to give them the satisfaction of knowing they irritate the sh*t out of me. Just so you don't think I'm a complete b*tch there are really only 3 people who fall into that negative category. If I don't talk about you that doesn't mean I don't like you but that I'm trying to respect your privacy, unless I never mention you-ever.

If you follow this blog you will realize I live in what most people would call the boonies. I love it here. One of the reasons is I have no close neighbors. I like people but I really don't want to listen to others if they are going to be negative to much of the time, especially time spent with me. The beauty of no neighbors also is that I can't make them mad with whatever annoying thing or things my or my family might do, such as loud music.

So if you want to stay on my good side go check out beadedmoonlady.etsy.com

Have a great day!

Hello, how goes? I haven't written the last few days because well crap happens. The hubbies computer crashed and we waited for a new hard drive, which arrived today. Since the hubby is a complete computer geek he has been going thru withdrawl pains which were nearly to the point of causing me to drink until passed out but I didn't. He was manic over the loss of use of the computer.
My son visited over the weekend and that boy has energy and makes so much noise without a whole lot of effort. I love him dearly but he sometimes gives me a headache.
I'm excited as our daughter is hopefully coming to visit this next weekend along with her brother, so I'll just take headache medicine. The only thing louder than one of them is both of them together. They can argue about anything. Even knowing this I miss them when they are not here.
Now, I'm not sure how my husband and I managed this, but we are supposed to be empty-nesters. Our children are 18 and 20 years old and moved out this last summer. But just before our kids moved two of their friends moved in with us and so now I'm the adopted mom of a 22 and 20 year old. I'm not sure how we did this, but at least they are good kids. Anyway, I hope you have a great day. Take care of yourself and others! Donate to your local food bank and local clothes closets, winter is tough and this economy is tougher!

Hey, how goes? All is good here except winter has arrived with lots of wind and coooold temps. Any way I hope you like this necklace available at http://beadedmoonlady.etsy.com. Check it out already. I love beading and a really like having a space to sell my jewelry. The one part I struggle with is taking good pictures so that my jewelry will look good.

I'm lucky enough to have a spare bedroom, now that my kids have left the nest, that is devoted to beading and now picture taking. I usually have to take around 400 pics to get 10-20 pics that are good enough to use. This picture came about in a third round of 400 pics. I take pics of new pieces and ones already posted on Etsy.com to try keep my store fresh and the jewelry looking its best.

Anyway, you should check out Etsy.com as there are a lot of really great artists and just really interesting people.

My Uncle Gary

Yesterday I got to spend time with my Aunt Sandy, Grandma Betty, and my Uncle Gary. My husband and I went to there home and helped them put in a new set of patio doors. We got the doors in without to much effort. It was fun to find out what everyone was up to. My Aunt Sandy is the one person in the family who keeps in touch with everyone. The entire day was pretty cool. However, it was also a little scary and sad for me. My Uncle Gary who is a total sweetheart has changed so much.

He has always been on the thin side. The most he ever weighed was around 145 pounds. He is now just mostly skin over bone. He is a man who usually just sees the fun and good in people and in life. He is the man who went to work and told all his buddies his niece was getting married and he was going to pay for the wedding. He is the one who guided me through being careful about choices I would make in the future when I first moved out on my own. My parents were busy getting a divorce. I always picture him as strong, fun, funny, and one of the most loving of men. Its frightening now with his health problems to see him be physically frail. You can see his frustration with himself over his new limitations. He gets winded so easily. But one of the things I love, of the many things I love about him, is that he doesn't give in or up. I'm not saying he's perfect because none of us are but for a man who is my uncle he as been more like a father to me and I thank him so much.

Hey all, how is your day? My family and I are very happy. My daughter finally received her information about her financial aide for college. She is attending a community college in Washington state. I am amazed they are able to keep operating. All students who attend that school and applied for aide were put on hold because the school was behind on there paperwork.

They finally got caught up, but all the students had to start school without knowing if they really had the money to finish the semester. However, at least for our daughter all worked out well. She received enough money for the semester. I really dislike when schools or other entities want and expect you to have your stuff together but they can't be as responsible as they expect you to be. Just a personal pet peeve, but it drives me crazy.

Anyway so far, all is going well for her and she is really enjoying school. I am very proud of her for staying the course to get what she wants and needs.

Getting Ready for Winter

Hi, so okay we've been busy and we still have lots to do for winter prep. Putting things away that don't do well in wind and snow. Getting wood stocked up for winter so we don't freeze our ha-ha's off. I'm really not a winter kind of girl, but it does help keep the bug population down.

Technically this is the last day of summer and I already miss it and can't wait for the next summer. Actually, I'm impatient for spring when I can start planting veggies and flowers again. I usually spend the winter checking to see how much snow is on the ground. As spring gets closer I watch for the daffodils to start popping up out of the dirt. I like dirt, even though I don't care for all the things that live in the dirt. I love the daffodils because that means good, or better, weather is coming soon. I do put water out for the bugs in spring, summer, and fall because I need the good bugs for my garden. There is nothing like fresh food from a garden, especially tomato's. Anyway, saying goodbye to summer and hello to fall. Have a great day!

Hi, I just wanted to show you some earrings I've made and posted on Etsy.com. You just go to http://beadedmoonlady.etsy.com. There are some really great handmade items and also vntage items on Etsy. There are also fine arts artists who have beautiful work. Please check them out.

Your helping the small business/artist during a tough economy and you can get your Christmas shopping done without all the crowds in stores. Plus you can get interesting and individual items that you can't get at our local chain store. Christmas is coming!

Friday, September 18, 2009

Hello, just feeling a little empty nest syndrome today. This summer both of our children moved out of our home. Our daughter, and our oldest, moved 60 miles away for school. Our son moved 30 miles away for work. I realize that neither place is to far away. I just would love to have them both home with me today.

Everyday I miss them, but some days are harder. Our son usually visits on the weekend. Our daughter visits but not as often as she is also looking for a job, which is not easy right now. They keep saying the economy is getting better but I don't see people getting jobs. I know lots of people who have gotten laid off and only 2 of them have found replacements or been called back to their jobs.

Anyway, have a good day, and I send lots of love and positive energy flying my kids way, and to you as well.:)

Hi, I've posted a pic of my Peach Lemonade earrings. They are available in my store on Etsy.com. Just go to Etsy and search for beadedmoonlady! It's easy peasy! Right now I'm just trying to keep up with everything I can to market my jewelry over the internet, but I'm also making jewelry to stock up my shop for Christmas shopping.

Another store you should check out on Etsy.com is OwensArtworks. This young man is very talented with a pencil and paper. He is only 18 years old. His drawings and prints of his drawings are pretty wonderful and you are missing out if you don't go have a look at what he is doing.

Okay, well I must get to work with my beads and I need another cup of coffee. Have a great day today and everyday!

Sunday, September 13, 2009

Hey, how's it going for you? We're doing okay despite a crummy economy. Right now our time is taken up with making sure our backup generator is tuned up and ready to go as well as our chainsaw.

The other issue taking up our time is a cougar spotting on property. I'm hoping he will leave our animals alone and go away of his own free will. There have been a couple sightings of the cougar on our property. We didn't see the cougar, but the people who did say he is a young male. The concern is he may not be a great hunter yet and we don't want him to practice on our animals. I really don't want the cougar to be hurt, but not everyone in our community feels the same. Plus I might not feel the same if he hurt one of our animals or a person.

A lot of the ranchers out here freak out if you mention wolves, but I will admit to feeling excited at the possibilities of seeing a wolf whether on our property or someone elses. To me Wolves are gorgeous animals and so smart. Ok, well for now I must to do some household chores (big sigh), I hate housework.

Hi! Lots of clouds today which is a bummer, but still getting good solar charge. Its been an interesting couple of days here. We woke up the last four days to an animal being loose. The first two days was Morgan, one of the horses we take care of.

The next two days the pigs Lucy and Boris were out and we had to round them up. Thankfully, you can just lead them back to there pen with food. As if I didn't already know, their stomachs are in charge of their brains. Similar to some men who's private parts rule their brains, but sometimes women are ruled by there private parts as well. Its sad really, except the pigs because it makes catching them easier. Plus our pigs are huge and I'm a little afraid of them. Maybe I'll take a picture of them and post it in the next few days.

Well, lots to get done, thanks for reading, and have a good day!

Sunday, September 6, 2009

Hi, just sitting here typing and watching Planet Earth. I love watching programs about animals and our planet. If you've never watched Planet Earth or Blue Planet check them out. I'm wishing I had windmills today as it so windy today in my portion of Klickitat Co., WA. I put up another picture of the area where I live. Its a wonderful place to visit or live. We have lots of oak trees and birds.

Anyway, have a great day and make the time to check out my jewelry at http://beadedmoonlady.etsy.com

Blue beadweaved bracelet

Not A Clue

Some days I don't feel like I have a clue, we've all (hopefully) had times like that. Mine is in regards to my son who views nearly everything I say or do with suspicion. He no longer lives at home but does come to visit on weekends. I asked him if he was coming to visit this weekend. And he sounded angry when he asked me WHY.

My answer was so I'd make enough for dinner. Also I was just curious. Sometimes he comes and sometimes he doesn't. He also seems annoyed that I know about his friends, some of whom I see more than he does.

Today I was informed that I shouldn't talk about the subjects of the military in anyway or alcohol. At least not around him. I wasn't expressing an opinion of either in fact I wasn't even the one talking when he said that to me. But for some reason our relationship has gotten more difficult since he moved out.

Okay, I just needed to get that out. Sorry for the mini rant. Have a good day!

Not A Clue

Thursday, September 3, 2009

Hi All, I am so far havin a good day despite it being a very blustering day outside. I am in my home drinking hot fresh coffee and sitting by a warm fire and its no even winter yet. I hope your day is going well for you.

You will notice a bracelet picture here today. It is in shades of blue with free-form beadweaving and a silver button and loop clasp. I've posted it on Etsy.com today. I hope you like it. Remember Christmas is coming. I love Christmas but not shopping. I think this will be the first year I do most of my Christmas shopping over the internet so I can avoid the crowds at the stores.

Grocery Shopping

So yesterday I went grocery shopping. I really don't like grocery shopping. I don't mind doing dishes, I like making meals, and I like good food. However, I really don't like grocery shopping. I would rather do any other chore. I really dislike shopping when stores are re-doing their look inside.

We do at least one big shopping trip a month and pick up other things during the month when we go to town for other things that come up. When the stores are re-arranging themselves you can't find anything without major hassles. Customers are lost and/or confused and eventually confused and frustrated. I really don't care what your store looks like as long as its clean and the food is good, meaning fresh. I'll even pay more at another store if the meat and produce look good and when I get them home they taste good. I don't care if the store has the rustic decor look if the food is great. The fact that the store might have nice fake wood floors if I go to produce and the food is moldy or bruised. Sorry just need to get that off my chest. Thanks!

Off The Grid

Okay, so you may have noticed I didn't post for a couple days. My family and I live off the grid. That means we run off solar power. The last couple days we have been very cloudy and were not getting good solar charge so I wasn't able to be on the computer. The up side is I don't have an electric or water bill because we use solar power. We also don't have a heating bill because we use a wood stove to warm our home.

Another cool thing about solar power is it forces you to use your time wisely and to think about what you need and want to do and when you need to do it so your not using lots of power when your not getting good solar charge. The next thing we want to do is put in one or two wind mills.
We do have a generator for back up power but we try not to use it in the summer. Once we get the windmills we will hardly ever need use our generator.

I don't like using the generator because fuel is expensive and it pollutes the air and I like clean air. Anyway, done for now will post tomorrow if we have clear skies. Thanks!

Hi, this is one of my necklaces that you can buy on Etsy.com.
I call this peice Moon Dreams. I've used seed beads and beads made in silver and black clay. Please go check out my work and the work of other artists.

Many of the artists also have fan pages on Facebook so have a look. It's a great place to shop if you want to avoid the crowds in the stores. It is also great if you have people in your life who are difficult to buy for. If your the crafty sort you can also buy craft supplies for your own projects.

Thursday, August 27, 2009

Ok, here I am. I tried to post yesterday but either my computer or the internet, or possibly both, were conspiring against me. The only thing I was able to do computer related was to check my email. This morning I woke up with a headache but it is finally getting better.
I spent a couple hours on Etsy.com this morning. I was in the chat rooms learning from veteran Etsy.com sellers. When you have the chance you should check them out. The artists there are wonderful about teaching new Etsy artists about how Etsy works.
Okay, so you may have noticed the ads on my blog site. Any money that is made by ads on my blog we be donated to local food banks. Also, I am working on donating a percentage of profits from my Etsy.com store to set up a fund to help people get a discount on getting there pets spayed and nuetered (did I spell that right?).
Well, I've got to go for now so I can water horses, pigs, and tomato's. Thanks! Also checkout these blogs-http://vivatregina.blogspot.com and http://craftydaphne.blogspot.com

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

hi, I hope your doing well today. I'm doing pretty good although I'm also being pretty lazy. I have posted a pic of one of the many wonderful sunsets I get to see from my front porch. Besides all the bennies of living in the boonies one of the best is no close neighbors. The nearest town to me is a mile and a half away with a population of 19 people.

Pretty soon I need to go outside and water the horses. They aren't actually ours although I wish they were. We are just helping out a friend for awhile. We are taking care of 5 of her horses. She supplies the food and we do the rest. Its the best of both worlds since we can spend time with the horses but she buys the food and other supplies required for there health and well being. Plus there have been plenty of times when we've needed help and our friend was there for us no questions asked. It is pretty wonderful to have a friend like her.

Well, I must try to string some beads together in a design I like. Today I am going to use my loom and make a bracelet. Please take care of those you love, especially yourself!

The Weekend

Hey, I hope all is going good for you. I am having a pretty good day. I got to have a few hours of quiet time today. We went to the Klickitat County Fair held in Goldendale, Wasington. We had good food, good music, and got to visit with family and friends. We watched 4H cattle, pigs, sheep, and bunnies be auctioned off. We went and looked over 4H horses.

Our daughter came home for a quick visit before college classes to attend the fair and our son met us there. My mother came and many of our kids friends. That was our Saturday along with taking care of our animals. On Sunday we took care of the animals and relaxed.

As far as beads go, I'm thinking of lots of ideas but not liking the results of my ideas so far. Tomorrow I should be able to settle down and help my ideas work for me a little better or I work better for the ideas, it just depends.

I'm obviously new to this, blogging, but hope to get better soon. I'm hoping to get some artists from Etsy. com to share info and or ideas they have about there craft and or life. However, for now I'm going to do some beading. Please remember to check things out at Etsy.com. Thanks!

Sunday, August 23, 2009

Welcome to my world! I am a jewelry maker and I love beads. Any beads. All beads. So I make jewelry and sell jewelry on Etsy.com. You should check it out as there are lots of talented artists selling handmade and artistic products on Etsy.com. Christmas is coming!!! Only 123 shopping days left!

The sellers and buyers on Etsy are pretty wonderful and its great to have a place to sell what I make as I live out in the boonies. The nearest good shopping is more than 60 miles away from where I live in rural Washington State. It is a great place to visit and live. Etsy is a great place to shop and I save on gas money for my vehicle.

I'm married to a really good guy and have three grown children and three young grandbabies. Three is a magical number after all. I love my babies but now that they are all out of the house I can bead more often and for longer. I used to sell at a retail location but they made alot of changes to how the store was operated and I decided to opt out. After about two years I found etsy and in June started my store there. I am very happy with my Etsy.com shop. I'm still learning and adding to my shop so check it out when you have the chance! Thank You!!!
